Special needs boy missing in Cooperstown

Police searching for 5-year-old black male

---- — Police are looking for 5-year-old special needs child who was last seen at 22 Gen Ave. in Cooperstown. According to Cooperstown Police Chief Mike Covert, the child, a black male, was last seen at 10:18 a.m. when he left his residence. The child is non-verbal and was last seen wearing a green fleece, blue jeans and is barefoot. He is described as being 4 feet tall and about 70 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

People are being asked to call the Cooperstown police at 911 if the child is located. Covert said the Cooperstown police are working with the Cooperstown Fire Department, Otsego County Emergency, the Otsego County Sheriff's office and State Police to find the child.
