Weather watch

By MARK HANOK

Friday will bring a continuation of partly to mostly sunny skies, moderate humidity and highs near 80 degrees, as all that rain associated with what’s left of Fay stays to our south across the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic states northward to Pennsylvania. On Saturday, a cold front approaching from western New York will bring the chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon;

otherwise, skies will be partly sunny with moderate humidity and highs in the low 80s.

Another high from central Canada will slide southeast to the Great Lakes on Sunday, bringing a return to bright sunshine and low humidity; highs will be in the mid-70s.

Labor Day will bring ideal weather, with bright sunshine, deep-blue skies and highs around 80 degrees. The same kind of weather pattern will prevail early next week.

Skies will be sunny on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs from 80 to 85 degrees.

Mark Hanok is an Otegobased meteorologist.
