Two Milford teachers honored by SUCO
MILFORD — Two Milford Central School science teachers
were among six educators who were recognized for their
work by the Secondary Education Department of the SUNY
College at Oneonta.

CV-S budget hearing will be next week

Annual Budget Hearing in the school building
on Thursday, May 8 at 7 p.m., and district
residents will have the opportunity to
cast their votes for the budget on Tuesday,

Girl’s essay stars in DAR competition
Cooperstown fifth-grader Rebecca Odell
said she was extremely excited when she
received local recognition for the essay she
entered into this year’s Daughters of the
American Revolution (DAR) Essay competition,
but was overwhelmed with joy when she
received a phone call Monday night notifying
her that her essay placed second in the state.

Cooperstown Central School has
announced the top four students
for this year’s graduating class —
all of whom are not quite sure what
they truly want to do with their futures.

Hartwick planning program to clean up town
HARTWICK — Jessica Breiten is one of about a dozen
residents within the Town of Hartwick who has recently
joined forces with the town supervisor and town board members
to develop a voluntary program to clean up the town.
The community is developing a three-part plan that includes
a junk vehicle removal program, a roadside clean-up
event, and the placement of permanent recycling and scrap
metal bins. There will be many chances for participants to
win cash and other prizes.
