CCS Class of ‘36 gathers

The Cooperstown High School Class of 1936 met again on June 25 at Jerry’s Place, near Oakesville. The class, which graduated 72 years ago, has met annually since 1991.

The class lost one member, Ernie Winnie, who died on Dec. 31, 2007. Fifty-two students graduated in 1936, and 15 class members remain on its mailing list.

This year, four members attended — Leona Andrews Mercer, of Morris; Frances Foster Smith, of West Winfield; Barbara White, of Cooperstown; and Homer Osterhoudt, of Cooperstown. The one guest at the reunion was Marion Osterhoudt. Homer Osterhoudt and Barbara White attended the Cooperstown High School Alumni Association dinner and meeting on June 28.
