SPRINGFIELD — The
Catholic Community of St.
Thomas the Apostle,
Blessed Sacrament, and St.
Mary’s announce and invite
the public to attend the celebration
of the final Eucharist
at Blessed Sacrament
Church located at 128 Public
Landing Road in Springfield
Center, on Saturday,
September 26 at 5 p.m.
Blessed Sacrament, a
mission church of St.
Thomas the Apostle Parish,
is being closed as part of
the Called to Be Church,
the Pastoral Planning Restructuring
of the Roman
Catholic Diocese of Albany
(www.rcda.org)á Throughout
this summer, a white
banner has been displayed
in Blessed Sacrament
Church.á This banner will
be displayed in St. Thomas
the Apostle Church starting
on October 4 to be joined
with the green banner at
St. Thomas as a symbol of
the two communities joining
together to become one.
Father John Roos, Sacramental
Minister, will be
the celebrant of the mass.
Karen Walker, parish
life associate at St. Thomas
the Apostle, will accept the
Blessed Sacrament Church
sacramental records and
the alter cloth on behalf of
the parish.
