Friends of Bassett holds golf tournament

Hosted by the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, the 16th annual KeyBank Bassett Medical Center Invitational took place on Tuesday, May 28, at the par-72 Leatherstocking Golf Course. The event enabled the Friends to raise $150,000. Proceeds will support the Friends’ Annual Fund, which strengthens Bassett Healthcare Network’s regional initiatives across its eight-county service area.

Representing the Friends, Josh Truman, director of Fund Development, said, in a media release, “All of our 2013 participants persevered damp conditions early in the round but a great day was had by all. We are very appreciative to our sponsors that have shown their continuous dedication to our Bassett Healthcare Network. The Keybank Bassett Invitational was a tremendous success due to the diligent work from The Otesaga and Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network staff.”

Truman also thanked the members of the Invitational Committee who volunteered their time and expertise to make the fundraiser a success: Jim Empie, Matt Schuermann, Bob Schlather and Dan Spooner.

First-place winners in the low-net team category were Don Brigham, Clif Coleman, Bruce Hall and Douglas Wilson, who represented Bruce Hall Home Center. The second-place team, Kevin Drumm, Ken Elliot, Jeff Gresham and Tim Ross, represented Matco Electric.
