Artist Mary Nolan of Cooperstown received the “Fenimore Award” at the Fenimore Art Museum’s sixth annual juried art festival Art by the Lake, which was held on Saturday.
According to a media release, the award recognizes the one work of art that can be considered “museum quality.” The award of $500 was sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. William Streck.

Art by the Lake is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency. Proceeds from this event benefit Fenimore Art Museum’s education programs.
