Village Library to hold Saturday programs for children

The Village Library of Cooperstown will hold special Saturday programs for children and their families. The Saturday Family Story Programs will feature stories, crafts and fun especially for families with preschool and elementary age children.

These free programs, sponsored by the Friends of the Village Library, will begin at 10:30 a.m. and be held in the village library building at 22 Main St.

Oct. 27: Mary Tedesco will treat the children to “tell and draw” ghost stories. After the stories, the children will make a ghost puppet and “reach for a prize." The one-hour program will be held in the village meeting room on the floor below the library.

Nov. 17: Vivienne Clark will help families get ready for Thanksgiving with stories and craft. About one hour long, this program will be held in the ballroom on the top floor of the village library building.

Dec. 15: Favorite holiday stories and traditions shared. Children and their families will also be able to make a fun holiday craft. This one-hour program will be held in the ballroom on the top floor of the village library building.

The Friends of the Village Library also sponsor Sunday afternoon programs for adult, which are held in the village meeting room in the village library building. Schedules of the programs for 2012-13 can be picked up at the library, or for more information, call 547-8199.
