The National Baseball Hall of Fame is planning a “year long anniversary party” next year.
The Hall of Fame will be celebrating it’s 75th anniversary in 2014, having first opened on June 12, 1939. To mark this occasion, the HOF will be holding four events over the course of the year, each celebrating 75 years of preserving baseball history.
These four major weekend events are the Hall of Fame Classic/BASE Race on the weekend of May 23-25, the 75th Anniversary Birthday and Member Celebration from June 12-14, Hall of Fame Weekend on the weekend of July 25-28 and a Concert in Celebration of the Hall of Fame’s 75th Anniversary on Aug. 2.
The hall of fame will also be releasing a commemorative coin and the book “The Hall: A Celebration of Baseball’s Greats” to mark the anniversary.
