The Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard team celebrated its 156th season at Bocca Osteria Restaurant in Cooperstown recently. More than 50 team members and guests took part in the banquet recognizing one another with individual, often humorous, memories of the year, according to a media release from the mill.
The 12th annual Employee Service Recognition Award was presented to the winery tasting room server Judith Mayer of Richfield Springs. The annual award recognizes a team member’s dedication to the Michaels family, which owns the mill, and fellow team members while making the mill a fun place to work, the release said. Mayer was nominated by team leaders and past award winners for her superior salesmanship and cheerful positive attitude.
“Judie has been quite flexible in learning many different jobs here at the mill. From snack barn to fudge and now at wine, Judie has found her niche as a hospitable salesperson for the winery. Judie and I work together on busy fall weekends and the hours fly as we are having so much fun,” Brenda Michaels, the mill’s president, said in the release.
The mill is ending its season this weekend with the annual Super Solstice Sale. The mill’s online store is open all year and opening day for the mill store is scheduled for late March.
