A DVD history of Canadarago Park will be presented at the Richfield Springs Historic Association’s Museum on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m..
The park included a skating rink, and was located on the eastern shore of Canadarago Lake. Historian Don Urtz has recorded his personal collection of slides, as well as his own memories of the park, on the DVD. Urtz’s slides cover all 80 years of the park’s existence, and his stories include those from when he was a teenager..
The DVD, produced with funding from a Broome, Chenango and Otsego County Decentralization Grant, is the second in a series. The grant’s goal is to record the history of iconic local events, structures and memorabilia.
The museum is located on 134 Main St. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend and share their memories of the park and rink.
