Saturday afternoon, two eating contests will take place. The “Sgt. Pepper’s” chicken wing contest will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cooperstown Veteran’s Club. The “Sticky Finger’s” Dessert Lover’s Contest will be at the Farmer’s Market from 4 to 5 p.m.
“The dessert contest is always popular with the people who go to it,” Leveille said, “but last year not a lot of people went. So we want to spread the word that it is going on, because who doesn’t like to eat great desserts?”
Wine lovers have two events they can attend on Saturday: Cooperstown Wine and Spirits will host a tasting from 12 to 4 p.m. and Nicolettas Café will host a Wine Benefit for the SPCA from 12 to 3 p.m.
Another popular show taking place Saturday afternoon is “The Hounds of Baskerville” Susquehanna SPCA dog show. It will take place at Lakefront Park at 12:30 p.m. and will include prizes for best costume, best trick, best speaker, best butt wiggle and best tail wag.
Saturday night, the Clark Sports Center will host a screening of “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” at 6:30 p.m. The “Monty Python” Lip Sync show will take place at the old Agway Building on Railroad Avenue at 7:30 p.m.
“It is a great family event,” Leveille said. “It is always a big event and a lot of fun.”
Also on Saturday night there will be a lasagna dinner from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Cooperstown Methodist Church, a spaghetti dinner from 5-8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, and an eating contest at Cooley’s Tavern at 5 p.m.
