The Cooperstown Art Association will once again hold its 23rd annual Fenimore Quilt Club Show, which will open Saturday, Feb. 9, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 24.
According to a media release, the event is within easy walking distance of all the festivities of Cooperstown’s Winter Carnival.
The exhibit will include about 100 quilts and quilted items in traditional and contemporary designs, according to the release. Some will be for sale.
Members of the Fenimore Quilt Club will be present each day to demonstrate quilting techniques and to answer questions about their craft. This year’s show will also feature a queen-size raffle quilt made by the members of the Fenimore Quilt Club. Buildings of many shapes and sizes, each produced by an individual club member make the quilt unique, the release said. The quilt will be on display for the duration of the show and the winning raffle ticket will be drawn Sunday, Feb. 24. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or six for $5 with the proceeds benefiting the Fenimore Quilt Club.
In addition to the raffle quilt, the Fenimore Quilt Club has been sorting donated fabric scraps, pieces, yardage, discontinued quilt books and magazines that will be available for sale throughout the show while supplies last. All proceeds from the fabric sales benefit the Cooperstown Food Pantry.
The gallery will be open daily for the duration of the Quilt Show. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gallery Hours: Open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
