Village officials are looking to fill several vacancies on advisory boards.
Mayor Jeff Katz said at the Sept. 23 Board of Trustees meeting that he wanted to put out a more official notice that the village is looking for help.
“In the past it had always been done unofficially, where the people here (on the board or village employees) tell people they know,” he said. “I think there might be a better way.”
There are vacancies on the Water Board and alternate positions available on the Planning and Zoning boards. However, other committees also need additional members.
Currently there are more than 50 members of 16 village committees, most of which hold monthly meetings to review village policies and laws and make recommendations to the trustees.
Except in a few instances, members do not have to be village residents. However, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and Historic Preservation and Architectural Review Board members do have to be village residents.
All appointments to village boards must be made by Katz and approved by the trustees.
