CCS Legends compete on snowy pitch

More than 35 former CCS soccer players, men and women from the early 1980’s through the class of 2014, found a snowy pitch for the 22nd Annual Legends of Cooperstown Soccer match was held on Thanksgiving Day.

The event coincidentally was also CCS coach Frank Miosek’s birthday.

Miosek is the originator and inspiration for the yearly event, which also benefits the Cooperstown Soccer Club, the youth program where many Legends learned the game before playing for the varsity teams at Cooperstown.

As is tradition, Miosek divided the players into two squads, Youth vs. Experience.

The wintery weather and field condition proved to be a great equalizer, allowing for a back and forth contest that saw Experience twice overcome one goal deficits en route to a 3-2 victory.

Matt Frevele and Isaac Huntsman scored for Youth.

Nick Laskovski, Ben Savoie, and Chad Welch tallied for Experience.

Matt Schuermann was Most Legendary CCS alum.
