---- — The second annual Grilled Cheese for a Good Cause fundraiser, sponsored by Otsego 2000, will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, at Brewery Ommegang.
An all-local menu of grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade soups, homemade desserts, beverage and Ommegang beer will be offered at two seatings at 6 and 7 p.m.
The family event features local gourmet chef volunteers Alex Webster from Alex and Ika and Cantina DeSalsa, Elizabeth Schula from Woodside Hall and the co-author of the cookbook “Saltie,” and Kristen and Dana Leonard of Origins Café.
The chefs will create grilled cheese sandwiches with donated Heidelberg bread and artisan cheese from Dutch Girl, Baybrook Farms and Raindance Farm. The cheesemakers will also offer free samples and cheese for sale.
The accompanying soups will be created by Michael Gregory of the Otesaga Hotel and Hawkeye Grill and Mark Loewenguth from B&B Ranch.
The musical group Tributary, featuring Kathy Shimberg, John Potocnik and Carol Mandigo, will be back again to entertain with their traditional acoustic music.
A donation of $25 per adult and $10 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children younger than 6. Proceeds will be used in the fight for Home Rule, according to a media release.
