Blake Elliott, a member of Boy Scout Troop 31 in Milford, recently earned the rank of Eagle, scouting’s highest achievement.
Elliott joined scouting at the age 5 as a Cub Scout in Milford’s Pack 13 and later joined Troop 31.
“While working toward the Eagle Scout rank, I have earned 34 merit badges and was elected when eligible to the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society,” Elliott said in a media release. “I was elected for membership in the Order by my troop members. Then, after completing an ordeal experience, I become a member of the Order of the Arrow.”
He has been a patrol leader and senior patrol leader with the troop.
According to the release, for his Eagle Scout service project, Elliott led in the design, planning and construction of an elevated walkway (36’ x 7’) over a small creek at Robert V. Riddell State Park. The walkway will address an interest expanding the trails available to the public within the park.
“With support from area businesses, organizations, family and friends, I raised funds for materials and organized troop and adult volunteers to complete the Eagle service project,” he said. “I am thankful for the donors’ support and volunteers.”
