Leatherstocking Credit Union announced this year’s recipients of its scholarship program.
A total of $2600 was awarded to eleven high school seniors in four Otsego County school districts.
Students receiving scholarships are: Taylor Bayes, Sarah Morosko, Margaret Hall, Dylan Snyder, Lucienne Ford, Emily Greenberg and Lindsay Harloff of Cooperstown Central School; Amanda Eichler of Oneonta School District; Brady Plows of Edmeston Central School and Vanessa Dykstra and Veronica VanTassel of Richfield Springs Central School.
The philosophy of all credit unions is that of “people helping people.” In accord with that principle, Leatherstocking Credit Union welcomes opportunities to assist area youth with their educational needs. Students who are interested in the scholarship must submit an application along with a brief essay describing the value of this philosophy. The scholarship is based not only on the merit of the essay but also the student’s well-roundedness and community and/or school involvement.
Students must be members of the credit union to qualify.
Leatherstocking Credit Union is located at 24 Glen Avenue, Cooperstown. For information on member services and benefits call 607-547-5700, or visit our website at www.mylcu.org.
