Honicker to begin Service term
The Maine Conservation Corps recently announced ithat Weston Honicker of Oneontak has been picked to serve as a field team member and AmeriCorps national service member for a three-month, 450-hour term of national service.
Honicker is the son of Russ Honicker and Ann Stewart, of Cooperstown.
The MCC conducts conservation projects throughout the state of Maine.
, including extensive recreational trail construction and rehabilitation. Honicker is a 2009 graduate of Cooperstown Central School, and currently attends the State University College at Oneonta, majoring in physics and minoring in mathematics.
Gov. Paul LePage welcomed Honicker’s decision to enter into national service in Maine. “On behalf of the state of Maine, I would like to congratulate you on your commitment to serving Maine as a member of the Maine Conservation Corps,” said LePage in the media release. “The Maine Conservation Corps has done tremendous work making positive changes to our great state and Nation.”
