A 92-year-old woman recently donated a sign made by her late husband to the Hartwick Historical Society.
The sign stood at the intersection of state Route 205, county Highway 11 and Bunn Hill Road.
Eva Chamberlin has sold her home at the intersection and will be moving to Harrisonburg, Va., with her daughters. Her late husband, Ed, made the sign in 1965 and erected it at the intersection. At the time, according to information provided by the historical society, there were no signs to South Hartwick and travelers would stop at the Chamberlin home and ask how to get to Oneonta, Mount Vision, Hartwick and South Hartwick.
The sign will be preserved and placed in the Hartwick Historical Society located in the Kinney Memorial Library, where Eva has been an active member.
