Otsego Land Trust and Butternut Valley Alliance are sponsoring a photo contest for 2013 titled “All Things Small in Nature.”
The contest is open to all residents of Otsego County and neighboring towns. According to a media release, the theme is broad-based and designed to recognize things in nature that are very small. Photos of insects, plants, animals and aquatic vegetation from all over the Otsego County region are encouraged. Outdoor photos that depict something small are eligible.
All entries must be received or postmarked by Dec. 31. Up to three photos may be submitted in one of three categories: Professional, amateur and youth (age 16 or younger on Dec. 31). Photos may be in color or black and white. Only digital photographs in .jpg format will be accepted. Favorite photos will be chosen by a panel selected by Otsego Land Trust and Butternut Valley Alliance and announced in early 2014. One photo from each category will be selected for prizes provided by the Butternut Valley Alliance.
Photographs may be sent electronically to email@example.com, or disks may be mailed to Otsego Land Trust Small Photos, P.O. Box 173, Cooperstown, NY 13326 or dropped off at the Land Trust offices at Pioneer Alley, 101 Main St., Cooperstown, NY 13326. Participants are asked to complete an entry form for each photo submitted. To receive contest guidelines and entry forms, visit www.otsegolandtrust.org or contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 547-2366.
This is the fourth year that Otsego Land Trust has sponsored a photo contest, following the “People and Trees” photo contest in 2010, the popular “On the Farm, In the Garden” photo contest in 2011 and the “Water, Water Everywhere” photo contest in 2012. “Water, Water Everywhere” photos will be on display at the Cooperstown Art Association in Cooperstown on Sept. 27.
