---- — The Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society will host “Birds, Brunch and Beer” at Brewery Ommegang on Sunday, June 2.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a free guided bird walk that is open to the public. At 11 a.m., ticket holders are invited to stay for an authentic Belgian-style brunch followed by a presentation by Mike Burger, Audubon New York Director of Science and Conservation.
DOAS will host bird-related workshops in the afternoon. Workshops are limited to 15 guests each and the topics include botanical painting, photographing birds, bird works and birding by ear. There will also be a silent auction and raffle of nature-related art donated from various local artists, including a hand-carved Great Blue Heron from carver Jonathan Dowdall.
Tickets cost $30 and event proceeds will fund environmental, educational and outreach programs through DOAS. Tickets are available by calling Eleanor Moriarty at 435-2054.
