Courtney Rachon finished with four kills, four aces, 10 assists and 10 digs to lead host Dolegville to a 25-6, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24 Center State Conference victory Friday.

Teammate Taylor Brandow contributed 10 kills, three assists and eight digs for the Blue Devils (3-3, 2-2).

Caroline Leonard paced Cooperstown with seven kills and five aces. Katie Frank finished with a match-high 15 assists for Cooperstown (6-1, 2-1), which will play at Little Falls on Jan. 3.

Katie Franck and Kristin Ratliff set them up, and three Cooperstown teammates knocked them down during a Center State Conference victory at home.

Franck finished with 22 assists and Ratliff had 20 for the Hawkeyes (6-0, 2-0), who remained undefeated with a 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 25-27, 26-24 edging of Dolgeville.

Caroline Leonard had five aces and highlighted three double-digit kills performances for Cooperstown with 14. McKenna Hage contributed 12 kills and Brooke Liner had 11 for the Hawkeyes.

Taylor Brandow’s 16 kills paced Dolgeville (2-3, 1-2), which got 10 kills from Emile Bode, 17 assists from Courtney Normoyle, and 14 digs and 12 assists from Courtney Rachone.

Logan Vibbard and Brandon Fallon each scored 13 points to lead host Edmeston to victory in the Tri-Valley League.

Vibbard and Fallon combined for 19 points in the first half as the Panthers took a 15-point advantage heading into halftime. Fallon also contributed 14 rebounds, one fewer than teammate Nick DeVries.

‘‘They controlled the pace for us,’’ Edmeston coach Darren Belden said.

Edmeston (7-0, 5-0) will face Brookfield in the first round of the Morris Tournament at 5 p.m. on Dec 27.

Dustin Collins had a team-high eight points for Cherry Valley-Springfield, which plays in the ODY Tournament this weekend.

A Cooperstown squad that shot 16-for-65 from the field fell in a Center State Conference game at home.

“We really shot the ball pretty poorly,” Cooperstown coach Mike Niles said.

Frankfort-Schuyler took a five-point lead on a three-pointer by Danielle Migliore (game-high 19 points) with 1:15 left.

Jenn Flynn then turned a steal into a layup for Cooperstown to make a three-point spread. After Cooperstown cut it to one-point, Kristy Wallace hit a pair of free throws to give F-S a 47-44 lead with 16 seconds left.

Cooperstown missed on its next possession, but got the ball with 3.8 points seconds left after a traveling violation by F-S.

Mallory Arthurs attempted a three-pointer from the corner, but it was partially blocked as time ran out.

“The kids had a lot of guts,” Niles said of his squad.

Lucy Ford finished with nine points and eight rebounds to lead Cooperstown (3-3, 2-2), which will play at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Dec. 28.

WRESTLING

Unatego 60, Cooperstown 21

It took Unatego’s wrestlers a little while to get going Wednesday night, but the Spartans didn’t waste much time after that.

After dropping the first four matches of their non-league dual meet against Cooperstown, the Spartans won 10 of the final 11 bouts for a 60-21 victory that pushed their record to 3-0 this season.

Unatego ended eight of those 10 victories with pins in the first period, and the other two came by way of forfeit.

The Hawkeyes jumped to an 18-0 lead with back-to-back forfeits at 99 and 106 pounds, followed by consecutive decisions by Steve Ratliff (113) and Paul LoRusso (120).

Holden Smith then started a string of five straight Unatego pins, winning his 126-pound match over Nate Miller in 1 minute, 36 seconds.

Austin Ryan (132, 30 seconds), Keith Crawford (138, 1:03), Lucas DeJoy (145, 1:00) and Troy Jones (152, 40 seconds) followed with first-period pins as Unatego took a 30-18 lead.

Reece Johnson’s 9-4 decision at 160 capped Cooperstown’s scoring. The Spartans took the next two matches by forfeit, then closed with pins by Marcus Sperry (195, 1:17), Riley Hanrahan (220, 15 seconds) and Ethan Barber (285, 1:07).

Crawford and Sperry, both seniors, earned their first victories in their first season wrestling for Unatego’s varsity squad.

Unatego will compete in the Windsor Christmas Tournament, which runs Dec. 27-28.
