It took Unatego’s wrestlers a little while to get going Wednesday night, but the Spartans didn’t waste much time after that.

After dropping the first four matches of their non-league dual meet against Cooperstown, the Spartans won 10 of the final 11 bouts for a 60-21 victory that pushed their record to 3-0 this season.

Unatego ended eight of those 10 victories with pins in the first period, and the other two came by way of forfeit.

The Hawkeyes jumped to an 18-0 lead with back-to-back forfeits at 99 and 106 pounds, followed by consecutive decisions by Steve Ratliff (113) and Paul LoRusso (120).

Holden Smith then started a string of five straight Unatego pins, winning his 126-pound match over Nate Miller in 1 minute, 36 seconds.
