Baseball HOF promotes three employees

Three members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s senior staff have been promoted to vice president, Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson announced on Tuesday.

Brad Horn, Ken Meifert and Erik Strohl have each served as senior directors of their respective areas of museum operations since 2008. Horn has been promoted to vice president, communications and education. Meifert has been promoted to vice president, sponsorship and development. Strohl has been promoted to vice president, exhibitions and collections.

According to Idelson, the promotions are well-deserved, based on their great contributions to the museum over the years.

“They are a strong part of a Hall of Fame team that has helped evolve the visitor experience, both in the museum and outside of Cooperstown. As we head into our 75th anniversary year, all three will be instrumental in helping to shape the future of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum,” he said in a media release.

Horn joined the Hall of Fame in February 2002 as director of public relations, and was promoted to communications director in March 2005. In April 2008, he was named senior director, communications and education, and has overseen all communications, education and outreach initiatives for the museum, including the delivery of education programs, advertising and promotion, voting procedures and current-day artifact acquisition, while serving as a chief liaison for Hall of Fame members, baseball and club relations, as well as a primary spokesman for the organization with media.

Meifert joined the Hall of Fame in June 1994 as manager of retail accounting. He was later promoted to director of sales and then to director of sales and membership, overseeing group sales, operation of the museum membership program and operational support for all fundraising activities. In the spring of 2008 he was promoted to senior director of development, responsible for all fundraising activities including sponsorship, capital campaigns, grants, annual fund and membership program, as well as government relations.
