Davenport goalie Chris Kopf stopped six shots for his fourth shutout of the season.

“He had some beautiful saves,” Deb Moorby said. “I told him after the game that he earned the game ball today. He really did a great job in goal.”

Cody Wamsley snapped a 1-all tie with a long-range goal late in the second half as host Davenport earned a first-round victory in the Chic Walshe Tournament.

“He took a hard shot from probably between the 18-yard line and halfway up the field,” Wildcats coach Deb Moorby said. “It was a beautiful shot.”

Davenport’s Kyle Moorby tied the score two minutes into the second half, heading a throw-in by Travis Briggs inside the far post.

Jack Donnelly scored off a Tanner Clinton assist in the first half for Cooperstown, which was outshot, 12-3.

Cooperstown and Worcester will play in the consolation game at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Jeremiah Parr, Park Summers and Ray Cabrera scored to rally Cooperstown to a road victory in Division III of the Center State Conference.

Kris Pontero opened the scoring with an unassisted goal for Mount Markham, which took a 1-0 lead 26 minutes into the match.

Parr converted a pass from Tom Schulz for the equalizer with four minutes to go before halftime, and Summers followed with a 20-yard direct kick two minutes later for the go-ahead goal.

Cabrera capped the scoring with 18 minutes left, collecting a corner kick that was punched out by losing goalie Mike Gras (five saves) for a 25-yard goal.
