Second half gets away from Hawkeyes

Warriors get first football win, 18-0

The Warriors took over on their 20-yard line, and on the next play, Christman ran 80 yards for another touchdown, starting around left end and then cutting back to the right to swerve away from the Cooperstown defense. M-E got a personal foul called on the play, but it was assessed on the kickoff. A two-point conversion failed, making the score 12-0 with 1:43 left in the quarter.

After another Cooperstown three-and-out series, the Warriors scored in just three plays. A 49-yard run by E.J. Hackney to start the series was the big play. Christman scored again on a six-yard run up the middle. Hackney was stopped short on the conversion; M-E led 18-0 with 11:52 left in the game.

Cooperstown got into Warrior territory again on the next series behind a 25-yard run by Harmon. But on fourth-and-four from the 33, Booan’s pass to Harmon was incomplete for another turnover on downs.

Michael Perrino made an interception late for Cooperstown, but the Hawkeyes were unable to capitalize.
