“Haggerty played really good defense on Schoff,” Niles said.

On Feb. 20, Sumer Murdock scored a game-high 20 points, including five three-pointers, to lead top-seeded Cooperstown to a 47-34 victory over Herkimer in a Section Three Class C-1 girls basketball semifinal at Onondaga Community College.

Nicole Cring contributed 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks for the Redskins.

“We were able to get the ball to Nicole in the post and she did a nice job getting to the foul line tonight,” Redskins coach Mike Niles said of Cring’s 10-for-16 performance from the foul line.

“Nicole and Sumer had big games for us tonight,” he continued. “Sumer was able to hit some big threes to help us maintain a comfortable lead.”
