Tickets for today’s Section Three Class C girls basketball championship between Cooperstown and Weedsport can be purchased at the front desk at the main entrance of the high school for $7. Tickets at the Carrier Dome will cost $8.
The game will take place at 6:45 p.m. in Syracuse.
Fly fishing seminar planned
The Otsego Land Trust will present a seminar on tying flies for fly fishing from 5 to 8 p.m. on March 8 at Milford Central School. The event costs $5 per person and includes pizza and supplies.
Join Craig Buckbee, fly casting instructor and state licensed fishing guide along with other experts from the Dave Brandt Chapter of Trout Unlimited. They will present an introductory course on how to tie your own flies. Children 11 and older are welcome, but must come with an adult. Pre-registration is recommended. Milford Booster Club dinner set
The second annual Milford Booster Club chicken-and-biscuit dinner will be held 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, in the district’s cafeteria. The meal will include gravy with chicken, biscuit, mashed potatoes, roll, cranberry sauce, carrots with brown sugar sauce and drinks.
A single meal is $7; all-you-can-eat is $9; cost for children ages 6 to 12 is $5; and children 5 and younger may eat for free. Takeouts will be available. A bake sale, silent auction, and 50-50 raffle will also take place with the dinner. Leave a message for reservations at 286-7212. Tickets may also be purchased from a MCS athlete or at the door.
Milford to host 3-on-3
Registrations are now being taken for the Milford 3-on-3 Coed Basketball Tournament, sponsored by the Milford Education Foundation as part of the Milford Booster Club’s fourth annual March Madness.
Games will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, in the Anton Remy Jr. Gymnasium at Milford Central School.
The tournament is double elimination. All teams must register with three players. There is a maximum of four players per team. Each team must submit an entry form before March 1 for early registration.
Player waiver forms must be completed by each player. If a player is 17 years old or younger, a waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian and submitted the day of the tournament.
Cost is $10 per player, with forms and waivers due the day of the tournament. Payment by cash or check will be accepted the day of the tournament. Checks can be made out to the Milford Education Foundation. Registration for the tournament will close at 12:30 p.m. March 9.

Co-ed Division Brackets are fifth and sixth grades, seventh-to-ninth grades, 10th-to-12th grades; and adults. Skilled players may play up to the next level, but higher-grade levels may not play down. There must be at least one player of each gender on teams.

Hall of Fame Classic

Game-and-museum ticket packages are available for the first time during the fifth annual Hall of Fame Classic Weekend, to be held May 24-26.
The legends of the game will return to baseball’s hometown for the Hall of Fame Classic, which moves to a new date — the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will host the annual Hall of Fame Classic Weekend with the participation of six Hall of Fame members at Doubleday Field.
Fans can experience Classic Weekend through two packages available for the first time in 2013:
“Baseball’s Past and Present” will feature a baseline ticket on either the first- or third-base side to the Hall of Fame Classic and a one-day museum admission pass for $25, a savings of $7 off the regular rate.
“Let’s Play Two” features a baseline ticket on either the first- or third-base side to the Classic and entry to “Night at the Museum,” a two-hour exclusive opportunity to meet and greet Hall of Famers and other former big leaguers from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hall of Fame.” “Let’s Play Two” is available for $50 per person.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.baseballhall.org or via phone at (877) 726-9028, Single tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for general admission outfield seats. Tickets are only available via phone or online and will not be sold at the museum.
The Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown is taking registration for its Individual Winter/Spring Futsal League, which will run Sunday nights.
Cost is $60 for non-members and $25 for members. Players must be at least age 18 and out of high school.
