Dubbens to enter CV-S Hall

Cherry Valley-Springfield will induct former baseball coach Ed Dubben and his son Scott into its Athletic Hall of Fame on June 20.

Their inductions will take place during the CV-S Athletic Awards Night, which starts at 6 p.m. June 20 in the high school auditorium.

Ed Dubben’s lengthy career included numerous Tri-Valley League crossover championships, several East Division titles and an appearance in the Section Four Class D championship game.

Scott Dubben was a three-sport standout (soccer, basketball, baseball) and set several program records in baseball for the Patriots. He went on to play Division III aseball at Oneonta State.

Cat Classic 5K is June 14

The second annual Cat Classic 5K Run & Walk, sponsored by the Milford Booster Club, is set for June 14 at Milford Central.

The race starts at 10:30 a.m. rain or shine in front of the school driveway and ends on the track finish line.

Pre-registration by June 12 is $15 per person or $45 per family. Registration on race day is $20 per person.

Strollers are allowed. The top male and female finishers will win awards. Medals will be given to the top three finishers in all age-groups.

Soccer camps begin June 30

The Headwaters Summer Soccer Camp will celebrate its 25th year this summer with seven camps for boys and girls ages 7-17 as well as team camps.

Camps cost $60 per week and run from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays during the summer. Campers will receive a T-shirt and a water bottle.

The following is a list of the camps:

June 30-July 4: at Otego American Legion Post 1555.

July 7-11: at Worcester Central School.

July 14-18: at Mine Kill State Park.

July 21-25: at Mine Kill State Park.

July 28-Aug. 1: at Edmeston Central.

Aug. 4-8: at Mine Kill State Park.

Aug. 11-15: at Oneonta State.
