Host Milford won by forfeit in the Tri-Valley League as Franklin lost two of its nine players to injury by the third inning and couldn’t continue.

Marjie Entrolezo had three hits and three RBIs for host Sharon Springs, which won a non-league game Friday.

Sarah Green struck out 10 for Sharon Springs (1-5), which received two hits and two RBIs from Renee Handy.

Kylie Graham and Jessica Carson had two hits apiece for CV-S (2-4).

Milford 4, Edmeston 3

Host Milford scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to win a Tri-Valley League game.

Kaley Chase opened the inning with a hard come-backer to losing pitcher Catherine Johnson, who then threw wild to first as Chase advanced to second. Peggy Paffenroth followed with a slow roller toward to first. Paffenroth beat the throw as Chase scored from second to tie the score at 3.

Natasha Skillen then reached on an error and Marina Steele singled to right-center to load the bases.

After Serena Chase popped out to second, Dawn Pickwick hit a grounder to second and Paffenroth beat the throw home to score the winning run.

“Yeah, it was close,” Milford coach Jim Weir said of the play at the plate.

Kaley Chase had three hits and Paffenroth finished with two hits for Milford.

Edmeston received 12 strikeouts from Johnson.

Addy Lawson, Peggy Paffenroth and Marina Steele had two hits apiece for Milford, which cruised to a road victory in the Tri-Valley League.

Maddy Zenir contributed a three-run triple for the Wildcats as part of a seven-run fourth inning.
