Dustin Collins hurdled and jumped his way to three victories to lead host Cherry Valley-Springfield to Tri-Valley League boys track and field victories over Laurens, Andes, Richfield Springs and Stamford.
Collins won the 400-meter hurdles in 1 minute, 6.0 seconds and placed first in the triple jump (40 feet, 2 inches) and the high jump (5-6) to help the Patriots to 189 points. Laurens finished second with 62 points, followed by Andes (32), RS (24) and Stamford (six).
Isiah Montgomery and Elijah Lyon had two wins apiece for CV-S. Montgomery won the 100 (12.3) and the 200 (24.6), and Lyon won the 1,600 and 3,200.
Richfield Springs won the girls meet with 88 points, 7.5 ahead of the host school. Laurens had 79 points, Stamford had 56.5 and Andes finished with 23.
Tessa Buck had two wins for the Indians, including a 31-5 ½ triple jump. She also won the 400 in 1:06.5. Christina Gurley and Vanessa Miller also had two wins apiece for RS. Gurley won the 100 (13.8) and the 200 (28.7), and Miller placed first in the shot put (31-2) and the discus (71-4).
Cooperstown’s girls earned lopsided wins over Center State Conference rivals Oriskany and Waterville.
Cooperstown defeated Oriskany, 107-25, and beat Waterville, 102-33.
Lucy Ford cleared 5-feet, 4 inches to win the high jump.
Kristin Ratliff contributed wins in the 100-meter hurdles (17.9 seconds), the 400 hurdles (1:15.8) and the triple jump (27-1). Samantha Fanion placed first in the 800 (2:39.2) and the 1,500 (5:23.3).
Cooperstown’s boys split, beating Oriskany, 109-19, and falling, 76-59, to Waterville.
JP Gertz led Cooperstown with a winning throw of 110-4 in the discus.
Joe Harmon contributed a win in the 3,200, crossing in 10:54.5.
