CCS softball still in contention


Cooperstown 15, Dolgeville 2


Maggie Hall hit a grand slam during a 10-run first inning, and finished with three hits and five RBIs to lead visiting Cooperstown in the Center State Conference.

Hall ran out her drive to left-center that capped the scoring in the first inning. She also tripled.

Winning pitcher Maria Noto struck out 12 and walked none in a five-hitter, She allowed no earned runs. Noto also went 4-for-4 with a double.

Christina Noto and Ellen Vibbard contributed two hits apiece for Cooperstown (12-2, 7-2).

Madisyn Butler struck out eight and walked three in a six-hitter as Richfield Springs won a Tri-Valley League game on the road.

Rebecca Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Indians, who received two RBIs from Meghan Cantwell.

Maddie Archer and Kyle Graham each had two hits and an RBI for the Patriots (4-11, 3-9), who stranded runners at first and second after scoring their final run in the seventh.

Losing pitcher Kylie Graham also threw a six-hitter, striking out two and walking four.

Milford 12, Worcester 3


Serena Chase went 4-for-4 with three runs and an RBI to lead visiting Milford to a Tri-Valley League win.

Mataiah Waters hit an RBI double and Kaley Chase had a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning, when the Wildcats scored six times to take a 7-0 lead.

Waters also had a two-run single in the seventh for Milford (6-5, 6-5).

Christina Walsh hit a two-run single in the seventh for the Wolverines.
