41 Hall of Famers expected to attend Induction Ceremony


The Awards Presentation also will also feature a salute to Legendary Entertainment CEO Thomas Tull, whose studio produced the Jackie Robinson biopic “42” as well as the honoring of Dr. Frank Jobe and Tommy John, who teamed up to pioneer the surgical procedure now known as Tommy John Surgery.

The following day, O’Day, Ruppert and White will be enshrined in a ceremony that will start at 1:30 p.m. and will be televised on the MLB Network. Included during the ceremony will be a special induction for 12 Hall of Famers who never had an official induction.

The headliners of that group are Lou Gehrig and Rogers Hornsby. The remainder is the class of 1945: Roger Bresnahan, Dan Brouthers, Fred Clarke, Jimmy Collins, Ed Delahanty, Hugh Duffy, Hughie Jennings, King Kelly, Jim O’Rourke and Wilbert Robinson.

Admission to the July 27 awards presentation and the July 28 induction ceremony is free.
