Wildcats remain unbeaten

Addy Lawson doubled and scored, and Kaley Chase homered during a four-run ninth inning that lifted Milford to a 7-3 Tri-Valley League victory at Schenevus on Tuesday.

Lawson led off the ninth with a double that rolled to the fence. She came around to score on the same play on a botched cut-off throw for a 4-3 lead.

Two batters later, Chase homered to right-center to make it 5-3.

Dawn Pickwick had three hits and two RBIs, Mataiah Waters had two hits for Milford (8-0, 8-0), which received seven strikeouts and four walks in a five-hitter from pitcher Kaitlin Van Winkler.

Schenevus scored three runs in the sixth to tie the score at 3. Taylor Spranger hit an RBI double and Dani Tefft had sacrifice fly in the inning.

Milford hosts the MCS Booster Softball Tournament on Saturday. The Wildcats play Hunter-Tannersville at 11 a.m.
