The sixteenth annual KeyBank Bassett Medical Center Invitational tees off on Tuesday, May 28, at The Otesaga Hotel’s prestigious Leatherstocking Golf Course. New proceeds generated by the tournament support the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network Annual Fund, which helps to strengthen Bassett Healthcare Network’s initiatives across central New York.
Golfers will enjoy a wonderful afternoon on one of the nation’s top-rated courses, as well as a buffet lunch prior to teeing off, a gift bag and a tournament gift. Prizes will be awarded to winning teams during the post-event cocktail reception at the Otesaga Hotel. Guests may also purchase a seat for the reception with advanced reservations.

Soccer summer camps open registration set
The 2013 Headwaters Soccer Club Summer Camp registration forms are now available.
This summer, the camp series will be celebrating 24 years of serving our area youth.
Seven camps will be held for boys and girls ages 7 to 17, and this year there will also be team camps. The camps will be offered for $60 per week with each participant receiving a T-shirt and water bottle. The camps will run daily Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Staff will include area college and high school coaches and college players.
The camp dates are as follows: Otego, June 24-28; Worcester Central School, July 1-5; Mine Kill State Park, July 8-12; Mine Kill State Park, July 15-19; Edmeston Central School, July 22-26; Mine Kill State Park, July 29-August 2; Oneonta State, August 5-9.

Hawkeyes looking for interns, host families
The Cooperstown Hawkeyes are looking for college summer interns and host families for players for the 2013 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League season.
Families who host players will receive a $300 stipend per player, a season pass to games and will be invited to other team events.

Herkimer offers summer youth sports camps
Herkimer County Community College is offering five summer sports camps.

Milford ‘Cat Classic announced
The Milford Booster Club ‘Cat Classic 5k Run and Walk will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15.
Registration is from 9 to 10 a.m. in the MCS parking lot. The race starts in front of the school driveway and ends on the track finish line.
If participants pre-register on or before June 13, the entry fee is $15 per person or $45 per family. Registration on race day is $20 per person with no family rate. The race is a rain-or-shine event and strollers are allowed.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the school website. All participants must sign a waver, and parents must sign a waver for participants 18 and younger.

BASE Race is planned
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, along with Cooperstown’s Clark Sports Center, will join forces again in August for the second annual BASE Race, with a new date of Sunday, Aug. 11. The BASE Race in 2012 had more than 300 runners in the Saturday event.
The BASE Race promotes healthy lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages. It includes a family-style 5k and a competitive 10k, with both races starting and ending at Cooperstown’s Clark Sports Center. Race times are 8 a.m. for the 10k and 8:15 a.m. for the 5k.
Those who pre-register for the event will be able to pick up race materials all day on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and may join the pre-race festivities at the museum.
Registration is $25 for adults and $50 for families until race day, when registration will be $40 for individuals and $65 for families. Registration can be done at www.baseballhall.org/BASERace and www.clarksportscenter.com.
