Senior Nicole Cring went 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs and an RBI, and struck out 14 in a two-hitter to lead unbeaten Cooperstown to a Center State Conference win at home.

Cring tripled and scored in the second inning to give Cooperstown a 2-1 lead. In the circle, she overcame her season-high of three walks.

“She pitched well,” Cooperstown coach Dave Bliss said. “She had a few more three-ball counts than usual, but the strike zone was tight, a little bit tighter than usual.”

Catherine Borgstrom went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Maggie Hall finished 1-for-2 with three RBIs for Cooperstown.

The Wolverines (8-5), who scored two more runs in the sixth, also received two hits from Summer Rutty.
