---- — Cooperstown junior Aaron Idelson, who has broken the Cooperstown school record twice for a six-dive meet, broke the school record for an 11-dive meet on Saturday at the Syracuse Diving Invitational at Nottingham High School.
Idelson’s score of 317.55 beat the record of 309.95 set by Gregg Lot in 2000. Idelson placed ninth out of 17 divers in the meet, which was for Class A and B divers.
Idelson will compete in the Section Three Class C Diving Championships on Saturday at Mexico. The Redskins swimmers will compete in the Section Three Class C Swiming Championships on Feb. 14 in New Hartford. According to Cooperstown coach Cheryl Rock, the top 24 swimmers in each category and the top 12 divers will advance to the Section Three State Qualifiers on Feb. 16 at Hamilton College.
