The Cooperstown Art Association will present the 28th annual Fenimore Quilt Club Show from Saturday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 25.
The exhibit will showcase “a diverse array of about one hundred quilts and other quilted items in both traditional and contemporary designs,” according to a media release. Items on display will include bed quilts, lap quilts, wall hangings, pillows and more. Both old and new quilts will be featured and several will be for sale.
Members of the quilt club will be present each day to demonstrate quilting techniques and to answer questions about their craft.
A queen-size, hand-quilted raffle quilt, made by all the members of the club, will be raffled as a fundraiser for the club and local food pantries. This year’s raffle quilt features the theme of “Garden Critters” and incorporates multiple techniques including applique, piecing and embroidery, the release said. It will be on display for the duration of the show and the winning raffle ticket will be drawn on Feb. 25.
Fabric scraps, pieces, yardage, discontinued quilt books and magazines will be available for sale throughout the show while supplies last. All proceeds from the fabric sales benefit the local food pantries.
The gallery will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. for the duration of the quilt show. The CAA galleries are in the Cooperstown Village Hall at 22 Main St.
