State police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed to be involved in several recent Otsego County burglaries, a Monday media release said.

Troopers are investigating two burglaries that occurred Jan. 19 and involved the theft of property from homes on county Highway 13 and state Route 80, according to the release. One occurred in the town of Pittsfield and the other was in the town of Burlington.

An unknown male was captured on surveillance video near the scene of the burglaries, troopers said. They are looking to identify and speak with the man.

Anyone with information on the man should contact state police at (315) 858-6014.
