In last week’s edition of the Crier, Paul Clark was quoted in an 11-year-old article by Crier reporter Rita Ferrandino concerning the Cooperstown Central School mascot name. According to Clark, he was misquoted at the time: “What I did say to Ms. Ferrandino was that I had spoken to Native Americans that were customers’ of mine and they were not offended by the term Redskins, but did find it offensive to see someone in traditional ceremonial dress as a mascot,” he wrote in an email.
In the Jan. 10 issue of The Crier, Cooperstown Superintendent C.J. Hebert was attributed to saying he does not know exactly how much adding a director of student services will affect the budget, but said it will have a significant impact. This was a typo and should have read, it will not have a significant impact.
