We have realized, having consulted our trusty calendar, that next Sunday is Father’s Day. And thus this past weekend we were online looking for an appropriate printable Father’s Day greeting card which we might send to the wee-we. Since we have been somewhat housebound this year, we have discovered the convenience of printable holiday cards. We used them rather successfully, we thought, when we sent them to the granddaughters for both Valentine’s Day and Easter.
However, we were less successful, we thought, in finding a suitable printable Mother’s Day card for our daughter-in-law. We actually had to settle on what we referred to as cheesy printable Mother’s Day card #301. And thus this past weekend, since we try to treat everyone equally, we were online looking for cheesy printable Father’s Day card #301. We ended up, we believe, with cheesy printable Father’s Day card #612. But it worked, we hope.
During our search we found a card which we didn’t quite dare print and send. On the cover it said “Know what it takes to have a quiet, relaxing Father’s Day?”
Inside the card, it read ...
“A different family.
Oh, well –
Hope Your Day’s
a Happy One!”
Amusing as we thought it to be, it just didn’t quite seem to fit the wee-we’s family of whom we are quite fond. Now, had the inside of the card said “different parents” we would have immediately printed it and sent it without another thought.
We have come to the conclusion that spring is over. We are no longer being bombarded with pothole complaints. Of course, those complaints have been replaced by complaints regarding the increase in traffic due to our many summer visitors. We have gotten such comments as the grocery store parking lot seemed like a bumper car ride, and a trip into town resulted in three almost traffic accidents. It is not terribly encouraging and it does not make us want to, now that we are allowed to, jump in the car and take a spin around the village.
