Roses to the opening of the Glimmerglass Festival’s new rehearsal hall, funded by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.
The new rehearsal space contains two approximately 60’ by 60’ rooms, which are acoustically separated so that two rehearsals may occur concurrently. According to a media release, the new building will provide a consistent space for rehearsals that is as large as the Alice Busch Opera Theater’s stage, where performances take place.
Until now, The Glimmerglass Festival has been rehearsing its four mainstage productions in community buildings throughout Cherry Valley, Cooperstown, Fly Creek, Oneonta, Sharon Springs, Springfield Center and Richfield Springs. This will continue for two of the company’s productions.
