Cooperstown’s six-game win streak came to an end at Bainbridge-Guilford, the top-ranked girls basketball team in Class C, on Monday, 54-43.

The game was close until late, with B-G outscoring the Hawkeyes 18-9 in the final quarter.

Abigail Selfridge had a double-double, scoring a game-high 20 points while also grabbing 16 rebounds for B-G (14-1). Jillian Cannistra had 10 rebounds while scoring two points. Megan Palmatier had six assists to go along with her 16 points on the night.

Julie Ford led Cooperstown with 14 points. Meaghan Perrino and Kate Trosset scored eight points each for the Hawkeyes.

Cooperstown (10-5) also announced Monday the team has scheduled a game with Class D rival South Kortright, which will take place Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Cooperstown. The Hawkeyes will return to Center State Conference Division III play at Mount Markham on Friday and will host Westmoreland on Tuesday.
