Hawkeyes HOF seeks nominations

The Cooperstown High School Athletic Hall of Fame committee is accepting nominations for the 2018 Hall of Fame class.

The committee recognizes individuals who, through their accomplishments, have brought pride and distinction to the school and community as an athlete, coach, administrator or contributor to the development and success of the program. Candidates must have graduated no later than 2008 (10 years out of high school) and have demonstrated good citizenship and character.

A coach, trainer or administrator can be considered for his/her work after leaving Cooperstown athletics but athletes must have their merits based on only their time at Cooperstown.

Teams also may be nominated, though it also has to be a decade after the team last competed (2008 year or prior).

Nominations can be made by filling out a form at cooperstowncs.org/athletics/ccs-athletics-hall-of-fame.

Applications must be submitted no later than Feb. 15.

The induction ceremony for the class of 2018 will be held Friday, Sept. 28.
