Wildcat boys top CV-S

Milford kept itself in contention for the Tri-Valley League boys basketball championship tournament with wins over Schenevus and Cherry Valley-Springfield last week. 

On Friday, Wynn Williams scored 13 points to lead Milford to home victory over CV-S, 61-31.

Milford won every quarter, though CV-S cut the Wildcats’ lead to seven, 27-20, at halftime.

A 23-point third quarter put the game away for Milford.

“It was a good win and a collective effort,” Milford head coach Andrew Gravelin said.

David Collins and Noah Young each scored six points for CV-S.

Milford (10-3, 5-1) was at Sharon Springs on Wednesday after deadline and is at Laurens on Friday in T-V games. The Wildcats will also play at Cooperstown on Tuesday.

Wynn Williams scored a game-high 13 points as Milford won at home in the Tri-Valley League. 

The Wildcats took a commanding lead in the second quarter with an 11-2 run. 

Jeff Carreras led Schenevus with 11 points.
