Since the jet stream will stay far to the north and high pressure will become nearly stationary off the East Coast, the dry and sunny weather pattern will continue in the Cooperstown area.A series of weak troughs will slide to the north early next week, but dry conditions will prevail for much of the time.

On Friday, temperatures will soar to near 90 degrees with sunshine and humid air. As the southwest flow continues around high pressure over the mid-Atlantic states, look for hazy sunshine and humid conditions with highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

On Sunday, humid air will continue in place with partly sunny skies, and the chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon or early evening; highs will be from 83 to 88 degrees. More of the same kind of weather will continue on Monday, as high pressure continues along the East Coast — partly sunny with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, and highs from 82 to 87 degrees.

On Tuesday, a weak cold front will approach from the eastern Great Lakes, and skies will be partly sunny with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but most of the day will feature dry weather. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
