COOPERSTOWN — The Clark Sports Center is seeking nominations for its annual Fetterman Award, established in 1993.
The award is given in memory of Patrick C. Fetterman, a longtime associate director of the ACC Gymnasium/Clark Sports Center.
According to a media release, recipients are honored for their dedication to serving local youth, especially in the area of athletics.
The Clark Sports Center will present the award at a gathering of friends, family and community members. A trophy sculpted by Fred Blatt, local artist, is displayed in the trophy case. The recipient’s name is added to the engraved plate on the trophy each year. Recipients receive a plaque
According to a media release, nominees must be involved with local youth in the area of athletics. They should also be caring, compassionate, kind, honest, fair, ethical, good-hearted, have unselfish motives, show good sportsmanship, patience, a sense of humor, teach through example, be well-liked and a good role model who is respected by children and adults, enjoy what he/she is doing, be truly interested in helping children and providing them with a positive experience. Nominees may be a coach, referee, umpire or organizer.

Letters may also be delivered to Wedderspoon-Gray at the Clark Sports Center at 124 County Road 52, outside Cooperstown. The deadline to submit nominations is Sept. 1.
