Class of ’94 award open to CCS seniors
COOPERSTOWN — The Class of 1994 at Cooperstown Central School is seeking applicants for its annual Christina Wayman Selan Award, named for a classmate who lost her nine-year battle with Hodgkin’s Disease on April 3, 2007.
According to a media release, last year’s award winner, Delilah Griger, received a $1,000 award during the Cooperstown High School Alumni Banquet in June. A fundraising campaign allowed the class to double the amount recipients received in 2018 and 2017.
Wayman Selan is described in the release as an involved athlete who led by example and always gave her best. Academically, she was an honors student both in high school and college. Classmates remember her most for her sincerity, sense of humor and kindness to others.
