Cabin Fever Film Series to begin with 'Rocketman' 

The Cabin Fever Film Series at the Fenimore Art Museum will begin Friday, Jan. 17, with the 2019 biopic about Elton John, “Rocketman.” 

Directed by Dexter Fletcher, the film focuses on Elton John’s early years and his meteoric rise to fame in the 1970s. It focuses on his relationships with his parents, his enduring partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin and his romantic relationships. 

The film stars Taron Egerton as John, and also features Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard and Gemma Jones.

The series will continue with “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.

Directed by Quentin Tarantino, the film is about an actor and his stunt double and their adventures in the entertainment industry in 1960s Los Angeles.

The film features Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Luke Perry and Dakota Fanning.

The series will conclude with “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31.

Directed by Morgan Neville, the documentary features children’s entertainer Fred Rogers, star of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.”

A former minister, Rogers creatively communicated themes of empathy and acceptance. The film features Fred Rogers, Francois Clemmons, Yo-Yo Ma, Joe Negri and Kailyn Davis.

All films will take place at Fenimore Art Museum, at 5798 State Route 80, just outside of Cooperstown in the town of Otsego.

The films are free, but cash donations will be welcomed. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Captions for the hearing impaired will be available for most films. Audience members may request captions upon admission.
